Less money for the OFCCP?

The FY 2019 budget proposes a mere $91 million for the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.

Bloomberg Law reports on the proposed appropriations bill and notes that such an amount would continue the downward spiral of the agency's budget from the $105 million typically appropriated during the Obama Administration. The proposed budget recommends a reduction in staff at the OFCCP from 525 to 450 full-time employees. This follows the voluntary buyouts offered by the agency last year.

If approved, this appropriations measure would shrink the agency's funding to levels comparable to those during the administration of President George W. Bush. Of course, the proposed budget must be approved by Congress, so stay tuned for further developments.
